Hi, I’m Lauren. I am a photographer and I’m based in Motherwell, Scotland.
I Started this blog page while studying photography at college and I enjoyed documenting my journey so much that I just kept blogging. I will blog my journey through photography not only to share experiences with you all but to document each one for myself, and hopefully they will help me learn and grow. Now here is a little bit about me…
Originally from Blantyre I moved to Motherwell at the age of 20 to start a family. I am the proud mother of a wonderful son and as cliche as it may sound he is my motivation.
I first fell in love with photography when my son was born in 2004. I used photography to document his life and capture memories that would last a lifetime. It was during this time that I discovered a passion for capturing unique timeless portraits. Investing my knowledge from my Artistic background and creative mind I was able to capture images that tell a story. I love the endless possibilities within portraiture, from the innocence of a young child to the wisdom seen in an elderly person, every face is different. People would comment on my snapshots telling me I captured something they didn’t see, natural candid shots.
My photography journey began in 2016 when I purchased my first DSLR camera. I studied photography within New College Lanarkshire for two years and obtained qualifications, a great amount of knowledge, experience and social skills. College taught me a lot and I learned how to use the camera to get exactly what I wanted but in doing so I became really structured and I was always looking for perfection… the perfect shot within the perfect frame in this not so perfect world.
I decided to leave college and try and find myself again, I wanted to take on a whole new challenge of juggling not only professional photography which makes clients happy but also personal projects that remind me of why I loved photography soo much to begin with. It’s not an easy task to balance but my journey has only just began. I hope you will al join me cause a journey alone isn’t as much fun 😘
